JOB VACANCIES ANNOUNCEMENT

The Director of Liwale District Council announces to Tanzanians with relevant qualifications to apply for thirty-one (31) job positions available in this Council, after receiving permission from the President’s Office – Public Service Management and Good Governance. The positions are as outlined below:

1.0 OFFICE SECRETARY II – 11 POSITIONS

1.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

i. Typing letters, reports, and both ordinary and confidential documents;

ii. Receiving visitors, listening to their concerns, and directing them appropriately;

iii. Maintaining records of events, appointments, visitors, meetings, travel schedules, and other duties;

iv. Searching and retrieving files and documents required for work;

v. Receiving and distributing files to relevant officers in departments/units/sections;

vi. Collecting, keeping, and returning files and documents to appropriate locations;

vii. Preparing minutes and organizing meetings;

viii. Preparing a list of office supply requirements;

ix. Performing any other duties assigned by the employer.

1.1.1 QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants must have completed Form Four (IV) and possess a Diploma in Secretarial Studies or NTA Level 6 Certificate in Secretarial Studies. They must also have passed Kiswahili and English shorthand at a speed of 80 words per minute (80 w.p.m), and be proficient in computer applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet, Email, and Publisher from a government-recognized institution.

1.1.2 SALARY SCALE

TGS C (Government Salary Scale)

1.2 DRIVER II – 13 POSITIONS

1.2.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

i. Inspecting vehicles before and after trips to ensure safety;

ii. Transporting staff on official duties;

iii. Delivering and distributing documents;

iv. Recording all trips in the logbook;

v. Cleaning vehicles;

vi. Performing minor vehicle repairs;

vii. Carrying out other duties as assigned by the employer.

1.2.2 QUALIFICATIONS

i. Must have completed Form Four (IV);

ii. Must possess a valid Class E or C driving license with at least one year of accident-free driving experience;

iii. Must have attended Basic Driving Course from VETA or any recognized institution;

iv. Must have relevant driving certificates.

1.2.3 SALARY SCALE

1.3 RECORDS ASSISTANT II – 7 POSITIONS

1.3.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

i. Recording incoming correspondence in the register;

ii. Recording outgoing correspondence in the register;

iii. Distributing files to Action Officers.

1.3.2 SALARY SCALE

GENERAL CONDITIONS

i. Applicants must be Tanzanian citizens aged between 18 and 45 years, except for those already employed in the Government;

ii. All applicants must attach a birth certificate certified by an Advocate/Lawyer;

iii. Applicants with disabilities are encouraged to apply and should indicate their disability in the Recruitment Portal;

iv. Public servants applying for different cadres must submit applications through their employers;

v. Applicants must attach a detailed CV with valid contacts and three referees;

vi. Applications must include certified copies of academic and professional certificates;

vii. Testimonials, provisional results, statements of results, and result slips will not be accepted;

viii. Applicants who studied abroad must have their certificates verified by relevant authorities (TCU, NECTA, NACTE);

ix. Retired public servants are not eligible unless permitted by the Chief Secretary;

x. Applicants currently employed in entry-level government positions should not apply;

xi. Submission of false information will result in legal action;

xii. The deadline for applications is 30 March, 2026;

xiii. All applications must include a signed application letter addressed to the District Director;

xiv. Applications must be submitted through the Recruitment Portal: https://portal.ajira.go.tz/ ;

xv. Applications submitted outside the stated procedure will not be considered.
