Malaysia Technical Cooperation Programme (MTCP) Scholarship 2026

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs Malaysia is pleased to invite qualified applicants from developing countries to apply for the Malaysia Technical Cooperation Programme (MTCP) Scholarship 2026. This prestigious scholarship provides an opportunity for international students to pursue a Master’s Degree in Malaysia while enhancing knowledge and skills that contribute to national and global development.

The MTCP Scholarship reflects Malaysia’s commitment to strengthening international cooperation by building human resource capacity in partner countries. Through this programme, successful candidates will study at selected Malaysian universities while gaining valuable academic and professional experience.

Scholarship Coverage

The MTCP Scholarship offers comprehensive financial support to successful applicants, including:

Full tuition fees for the entire duration of the programme

Monthly living allowance of RM3,500

Return economy-class air ticket from the applicant’s home country to Malaysia

These benefits are designed to enable students to focus fully on their studies while living and studying in Malaysia.

Duration of the Programme

The scholarship will support postgraduate studies for a period of:

24 to 36 months

The funding applies to the following types of Master’s programmes:

Coursework programmes

Mixed mode programmes

Research-based programmes

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants interested in the MTCP Scholarship must meet the following requirements:

Must be not more than 45 years old at the time of application

Hold a Bachelor’s Degree with at least a Second-Class Upper (Honours) or a minimum CGPA of 3.0 (or equivalent)

Provide proof of English language proficiency, such as:

IELTS score of at least 6.0, or

TOEFL Internet-Based Test score of at least 60, or

Evidence that previous degree studies were conducted in English as the medium of instruction

Be in excellent health, certified by a qualified medical practitioner

Applicants are required to submit a medical report, which can be downloaded from the MTCP Scholarship website. The medical report must be valid within six months from the application date, and the cost of the medical examination will be borne by the applicant.
