About Manyoni District Council
Situated in the heart of Singida Region, Manyoni District Council spans an area of approximately 9,393 km² and is home to over 279,000 residents, according to the 2022 National Census. The district headquarters is located in Manyoni Town, a growing commercial and transport center strategically positioned along the T3 highway and the Central Railway Line connecting Dar es Salaam to Mwanza.
Manyoni is making impressive strides in development through targeted investments in infrastructure, education, water access, and tourism. Among its recent accomplishments:
Construction and rehabilitation of roads and the introduction of the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) are strengthening regional connectivity.
Implementation of projects like the Mbwasa irrigation scheme and Sasilo water well, coordinated through council-led tenders.
Installation of rainwater harvesting tanks in multiple schools, enhancing sanitation and reducing waterborne illnesses.
Presence of 69 primary schools and 19 secondary schools, including standout institutions such as Manyoni Secondary, Mlewa, Mwanzi, and Amani Girls, known for academic excellence
Furthermore, the Kizigo Game Reserve, which shelters wildlife such as elephants, giraffes, and lions, presents a significant opportunity for eco-tourism and conservation-driven economic growth.
