About TANROADS

The Tanzania National Roads Agency (TANROADS) is responsible for the maintenance and development of the Trunk and Regional Roads Network in Tanzania Mainland. The Agency is also in charge of axle load control operations across the country.

On behalf of the Chief Executive, the Regional Manager TANROADS – Morogoro is seeking to recruit a qualified and competent Tanzanian to fill the position of Environmentalist for ongoing road construction and upgrading projects within the region.

Key Projects Involved:

Construction of Kidatu-Ifakara-Lupiro-Malinyi-Kilosa Kwa Mpepo-Londo-Lumecha/Songea (484 KM) – Lot 1: Ifakara-Lupiro-Mtimbira (112 KM)

Upgrading of Morogoro (Bigwa)-Mvuha Road (78 KM) Including Ruvu (64m) & Mvuha (60m) Bridges

Upgrading of Ifakara-Kihansi Road (124 KM) – Lot 2: Mbingu-Chita Section (37.5 KM)

Position Overview:

Job Title: Environmentalist

Number of Posts: 1

Minimum Qualifications:

Tanzanian citizen

Holder of a Bachelor’s Degree in one of the following fields:

Environmental Science and Management

Environmental Planning and Management

Geography and Environmental Studies

Or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution

Minimum of two (2) years relevant working experience in a related field

Duties and Responsibilities:

Conduct environmental research related to road maintenance and development works

Update and implement environmental management procedures within the road sector

Carry out Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) for road construction projects

Perform any other related duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor

Terms of Employment:

Type of Contract: One-year specified contract, renewable based on project progress

Remuneration: Attractive salary package as per TANROADS salary scale and allowances according to TANROADS Incentive Policy
