Are you a seasoned land surveyor with a solid track record in road construction projects? The Tanzania National Roads Agency (TANROADS) – Iringa Region is seeking a qualified and experienced Senior Topographical Surveyor to join its technical team in supervising and delivering critical infrastructure projects.
This role requires hands-on field expertise and a deep understanding of surveying principles applied within the road construction sector.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience:
Possession of an Advanced Diploma in Land Surveying from a recognized institution.
Must be registered as a Land Surveyor by a relevant professional body.
At least six (6) years of specific experience in land surveying for road design and construction projects.
Must have served as a Topographical Surveyor in a minimum of two (2) projects of similar scale and complexity in the past six years.
At least three (3) years of experience working in Sub-Saharan African countries in a similar capacity.
Age limit: Applicants must not exceed 45 years of age.
Core Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepare, update, and maintain maps, survey sketches, and detailed technical reports.
Analyze and verify survey data accuracy, including measurements and field calculations.
Conduct surveys to determine legal land boundaries and topographical features.
Record and interpret survey findings, including elevation, shape, and dimensions of surveyed land.
Perform research on legal records and historical land surveys to verify property boundaries.
Collaborate with engineers, contractors, clients, and relevant stakeholders to ensure alignment on project plans.
Calibrate and adjust surveying instruments to maintain measurement precision.
Establish geodetic control points and reference markers for mapping and site layout.
Develop guidelines for survey techniques and specify equipment for aerial and ground photography.
Carry out additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
