Job Opportunity: Works Inspector – Road Works (1 Position)
Location: Iringa | Employer: TANROADS | Contract Duration: 12 Months
The Tanzania National Roads Agency (TANROADS) – Iringa Region is inviting applications from qualified and experienced Tanzanians to fill the position of Works Inspector – Road Works under its ongoing road development projects. This is a contract-based role aimed at enhancing road safety, quality, and delivery timelines for infrastructure in the region.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience:
A Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or its equivalent from a recognized higher learning institution.
Must be registered with the Engineers Registration Board (ERB) as a Graduate or Professional Engineer.
A minimum of three (3) years of hands-on experience in road design and construction, with a strong background in field supervision.
Proven track record as a Works Inspector or in a similar role for at least three (3) years, handling road construction projects of similar scope and complexity.
Age limit: Not above 45 years.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor and inspect contractors’ operations related to road and earthworks.
Maintain accurate daily site records, including day works and factual construction data.
Measure, verify, and countersign in-situ completed works.
Issue corrective instructions and ensure timely implementation.
Handle approval requests, especially for covered works.
Prepare daily reports and submit findings to the Highway Engineer.
Ensure compliance with technical standards and project specifications.
