JOB VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
The Secretary of the Public Service Recruitment Secretariat on behalf of the Ministry of Livestock and Fisheries, MDAs & LGAs, the Prison Service and the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology invites job applications from Tanzanians with qualifications and ability to fill 514 vacancies as specified in this announcement:
1.0 FISH TECHNOLOGIST II – (3 Posts)
1.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
i. Provide advice on preparation, processing, drying and storage of fish and fishery products;
ii. Inspect and supervise quality of fishery products and seaweed according to national and international standards;
iii. Supervise and advise on quality control regulations of fishery products and seaweed;
iv. Control quality of fish at landing sites, markets, industries and warehouses;
v. Maintain cleanliness in fish and seaweed receiving areas;
vi. Inspect processing industries, storage warehouses and transport vessels for fishery products according to HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point);
vii. Verify various production and transportation documents for fishery products and seaweed; and
viii. Perform any other duties assigned by the Head of Unit related to the profession.
1.2 QUALIFICATIONS OF THE APPLICANT
Employed applicants must have one of the following Bachelor Degrees: Fish Technology, Marine Biology and Applied Microbiology, Fisheries Sciences and Microbiology from the University of Dar es Salaam; Food Science (Food Technology and Microbiology) from Sokoine University of Agriculture or an equivalent qualification from any other recognized higher learning institution.

2.0 VETERINARY OFFICER II – (19 Posts)
2.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
i. Provide livestock health services;
ii. Conduct diagnosis of livestock diseases within the work area according to the law;
iii. Prepare and supervise plans for preventing, controlling and eliminating livestock diseases;
iv. Supervise animal welfare;
v. Participate in diagnosis of wildlife diseases within the area;
vi. Supervise and coordinate adherence to Disease Regulations, inspection of livestock and their products and livestock inputs;
vii. Coordinate and supervise hygiene activities at abattoirs and meat inspection in the area;
viii. Prepare livestock health reports within the area; and
ix. Perform any other related duties assigned by the supervisor.Buy vitamins and supplements
2.2 QUALIFICATIONS OF THE APPLICANT
Bachelor Degree in Veterinary Medicine from Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA) or an equivalent qualification from any other recognized institution and must be registered by the Tanzania Veterinary Council.

3.0 LIVESTOCK RESEARCH OFFICER II – (1 Post)
3.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
i. Conduct research under the supervision of a Senior Research Officer;
ii. Write and maintain research records;
iii. Assist in conducting seminars and exhibitions on proper livestock keeping;
iv. Prepare research proposals in collaboration with the supervising Research Officer; and
v. Perform any other related professional duties assigned by the supervisor.
3.2 QUALIFICATIONS OF THE APPLICANT
Bachelor Degree in Animal Science from Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA) or an equivalent qualification from another recognized institution.

4.0 LIVESTOCK FIELD ASSISTANT – (20 Posts)
4.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
i. Provide extension services in livestock development and its products;
ii. Treat livestock and provide reports on diseases, treatment and feeding;
iii. Supervise performance of Livestock Attendants;
iv. Maintain livestock statistics and various reports;
v. Inspect quality of livestock products;
vi. Supervise animal welfare; and
vii. Perform any other related duties assigned by the supervisor.
4.2 QUALIFICATIONS OF THE APPLICANT
Form IV or VI graduates with livestock training and awarded a Veterinary Health and Production Certificate (NTA Level 5) from the Livestock Training Agency (LITA) or equivalent qualification from another recognized institution.Buy vitamins and supplements

5.0 ICT OFFICER II (PROGRAMMER) – (40 Posts)
5.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
i. Plan, code and test programs;
ii. Debug programs;
iii. Configure and ensure security settings in programs;
iv. Collaborate with other software developers; and
v. Perform any other related duties assigned by the supervisor.
5.2 QUALIFICATIONS OF THE APPLICANT
Holder of a Higher Diploma or Bachelor Degree in one of the following fields: Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics and Information and Communication Technology or any related discipline.

6.0 RADIOGRAPHY TECHNOLOGIST II – RADIOLOGY (70 Posts)
6.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
i. Examine patients referred to the radiology unit;
ii. Maintain radiology equipment;
iii. Inspect X-ray images for diagnostic quality;
iv. Keep patient images until results reach referring doctors;
v. Supervise junior staff;
vi. Provide advice on radiology and radiation issues;
vii. Prepare medical/diagnostic equipment and supervise sterilization;
viii. Provide initial training for assigned staff;
ix. Perform any related duties assigned by the supervisor.
6.2 QUALIFICATIONS OF THE APPLICANT
Diploma in Radiology Technology from a recognized institution and registered by the Tanzania Atomic Energy Commission.

7.0 OPTOMETRIST II – (20 Posts)
7.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
i. Conduct eye examinations and treatment;
ii. Refer patients to higher-level specialists when needed;
iii. Provide counselling;
iv. Maintain and repair eye equipment;
v. Make and repair all types of spectacles;
vi. Perform any related duties assigned by the supervisor.

Form Four graduate with a certificate in kitchen operations from a recognized institution.

15.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
i. Teach electrical courses;

iii. Supervise practical sessions;
iv. Assess trainees during practice and examinations;
v. Conduct training needs assessment in surrounding communities;
vi. Prepare course outlines;
vii. Prepare training plans;
viii. Prepare teaching aids;
ix. Conduct outreach training programs;
x. Set, supervise and mark examinations.

Form IV/VI with Diploma in Electrical Studies from a recognized institution.

16.2 QUALIFICATIONS
Form IV/VI with a Diploma in Motor Vehicle Mechanics from a recognized institution.
