 ANNOUNCEMENT: 8,000 TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES IN VARIOUS VOCATIONAL SKILLS

The Prime Minister’s Office for Labour, Youth, Employment, and Persons with Disabilities is implementing the National Skills Development Program. This initiative aims to equip the national workforce with the necessary skills and competencies to compete effectively in the job market.

The office has entered into agreements with 52 vocational training institutions, all registered with the relevant authorities, to offer training in various fields. These fields include Fashion Design and Tailoring, Plumbing, Masonry, Carpentry, Welding and Metal Fabrication, Painting and Signwriting, Catering, Machine Parts Manufacturing, Automotive and Machinery Mechanics, Domestic and Industrial Electrical Installation, Automotive Electrical Services, Hotel and Tourism Services, Mineral Cutting, and Metalwork.

The office invites Tanzanian youth aged 15 to 35 who wish to enroll in any of the listed training programs to visit the regional and district VETA centers or designated institutions to collect application forms. The government will fully sponsor the training fees (100%). However, students, parents, or guardians will be responsible for other expenses, including transport to and from the training centers.

The training will commence on March 3, 2025, and will be conducted on a full-time basis. Applicants are advised to apply to institutions located within their respective regions of residence.

A list of approved training centers and their respective courses is attached.

APPLICATION NOTICE

Applications should be submitted from January 30, 2025, to February 12, 2025, along with the following documents:

Application letter for the training program.

Copy of the birth certificate.

Copy of the academic certificate of the highest level of education attained.

National ID or Voter’s Card (for applicants aged 18 and above).

Introduction letter from the Local Government Office (Street/Village Government) where the applicant resides.

Four passport-sized photos, with the applicant’s three names written on the back.

Eligibility Criteria:

Applicants must meet the following qualifications:

Primary education or higher for courses in fashion and tailoring, plumbing, construction, carpentry, welding and metal fabrication, painting, and signage.

Ordinary Level Certificate (Form Four) or higher for other courses, including machine part manufacturing, automotive mechanics, domestic and industrial electrical installation, auto-electrics, and solar energy systems.

Must be a Tanzanian citizen.

Must be between 15 and 35 years old.

Must be physically fit.

Priority will be given to youth with disabilities, and they are strongly encouraged to apply.

How to Apply:

Application forms should be collected and submitted to approved training institutions within the applicant’s region. Only those who meet the required qualifications will be selected.
