Relationship Officer – SME (4 Positions)
Job Purpose
Reporting directly to the Branch Manager, the Relationship Officer – SME will be tasked with growing the loan portfolio by maintaining strong client relationships and ensuring the delivery of sound and compliant credit solutions. The role is ideal for experienced banking professionals passionate about driving SME growth in Tanzania.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct regular client visits for monitoring and recovery purposes.
Evaluate loan applications and verify client eligibility.
Perform on-site assessments of client businesses to gather critical credit information.
Ensure full compliance with the bank’s credit policies and procedures pre- and post-disbursement.
Prepare timely reports—daily, weekly, and monthly—on loan performance and portfolio analysis.
Collaborate with the Branch Manager and other departments to support business development efforts.
Undertake additional duties as assigned from time to time.
Qualifications & Experience
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, CFA, Credit Analysis Certification) is an added advantage.
Experience: At least 5 years of experience in credit analysis, relationship management, or related banking roles, preferably handling SME portfolios.
Additional: A minimum of 3 years in Credit Administration is essential.
Key Competencies
In-depth understanding of credit structuring, risk assessment, and financial analysis.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
Proficient in credit management tools and financial software, especially MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Solid knowledge of banking regulations and compliance standards.
