JOB VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
The Evacancies xecutive Director of Arusha District Council invites qualified Tanzanians to apply for seven (7) job in this Council after obtaining permission from the President's Office, Public Service Management and Good Governance as per the following breakdown:
1.0 DRIVER GRADE II – 04 POSITIONS
1.0.1 DUTIES OF THE DRIVER
i. To inspect the vehicle before and after trips to determine the vehicle's safety condition.
ii. To transport Staff to various locations on official trips.
iii. To perform minor vehicle repairs.
iv. To collect and distribute various documents.
v. To fill out and maintain records of all trips in the log book and
vi. To clean the vehicle.
1.0.2 QUALIFICATIONS FOR EMPLOYMENT
To be employed, applicants must have a Form Four (Form IV) certificate and a Class C or E driving license for which they have worked for at least one year (1) without causing an accident. They must have attended a Basic Driving Course offered by a VETA College or another Government-recognized College.
1.0.3 SALARY TGS B
1.1 OFFICE MANAGEMENT SECRETARY GRADE II - 02 POSITIONS
1.1.1 DUTIES OF THE OFFICE MANAGEMENT SECRETARY
i. Typing letters, reports, and routine and confidential documents.
ii. Receiving Guests and listening to their problems, and directing them to the section where they can be assisted.
iii. Maintaining records of events, appointments, guests, meeting dates, trips of his/her superior, and other work schedules.
iv. Searching for files and documents required in the performance of work duties.
v. Receiving files and distributing them to Officers in the relevant Department/ Unit/ Section.
vi. Collecting, storing, and returning files and documents to the relevant sections.
vii. Arranging extracts and making preparations for various meetings.
viii. Preparing a list of office equipment requirements.
ix. To perform other duties related to his/her cadre as directed by the work supervisor.
1.1.2 QUALIFICATIONS OF THE APPLICANT
The applicant must have Form Four education and a Diploma (NTA level 6) in Secretarial Studies from a Government-recognized College. Furthermore, they must have passed a Shorthand subject in Kiswahili and English at 80 words per minute (80 w.p.m) and acquired Office computer programs such as: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet, E-mail, and Publisher from an Institution or colleges recognized by the Government.
1.1.3 SALARY: TGS C
1.2 PLANT OPERATOR (PLANT OPERATOR) - (1 POSITION)
1.2.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
i. To operate machinery under the supervision of an experienced Plant Operator.
1.2.2 QUALIFICATIONS FOR EMPLOYMENT
To be employed, applicants must have a Form Four certificate and possess a Class “G” license for operating Machinery and skills in maintaining various types of that machinery, with experience in operating machinery for a period of three hundred (300) hours or three (3) months without causing an accident.
1.2.3 SALARY LEVEL TGOS A
GENERAL CONDITIONS
i. All applicants must be Tanzanian Citizens aged between 18 and 45 years, except for those already employed;
ii. Applicants with disabilities are encouraged to apply and must specify their disability in the Job Application System for information to the Secretariat of Employment in the Public Service.
iii. Applicants must attach a detailed personal description (Detailed C.V) with a functional address, accessible phone numbers, and an Email address (E-mail address) along with the names of three reliable referees.
iv. All applications must be accompanied by certified copies of Academic and Professional Certificates by an Advocate/Lawyer. These include Form Four or Form Six certificates for those who reached that level and various training completion certificates considering the job qualifications. Diploma/Certificates, - Form IV and VI Examination Certificates, - Computer Certificate.
v. “Testimonial”, “Provisional Results”, “Statement of results”, Form Four and Form Six Results Slips WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
vi. Applicants who studied outside the country must ensure their certificates have been verified and validated by the relevant Authorities (TCU, NECTA, and NACTE).
vii. Applicants who have retired from the Public Service are not allowed to apply unless they have permission from the Chief Secretary.
viii. Job applicants who are already employed in intern positions within the Public Service should not apply and are required to adhere to the instructions in Letter No. CAC.45/257/01/D/140 dated November 30, 2010.
ix. Submission of false information and qualifications will lead to legal action against the concerned individuals.
x. Job applicants for the Driver Grade II cadre with a Class E or C license must ATTACH their driving training certificates which qualified them to obtain the respective classes.
xi. Job applicants with different names must have a DEED POLL.
xii. The deadline for submitting job applications is 14 December, 2025.
